Back in 2008, myspace urshered in a new way for music artistes to promote themselves. Well, as you know, it couldn’t compete against top innovations like Facebook and Twitter, so they fell, rapidly too. But there is new light for artistes who don’t yet have managers, who cant afford promotion yet, and no, its not the new myspace, its not also gidimp3 or abegmusic.com, they charge a premium to place your music on their sites, so here are a few tips to get to the top without (much) money

1.       Record yourself- it doesn’t have to be in an expensive studio, just a regular studio that does fine mixing will do

2.       Promote yourself on Facebook and Twitter

3.       Use free sites to promote yourself and offer free downloads, remember, its not the money you are after at this time, its more of establishing yourself.

4.       Create a blogsite- blogs are free, important to note also is that websites are also cheap to host these days. Your blog should represent you, portray what you do, offer free stuff…
